.....The Unmakers Awake! 25 Crystal domes rise from the seabed. These are the terraforming machines that the Atlanteans used to prepare for seeding the Earth.

Now they start to absorb the atmosphere and as the air thins the sky turns a violet colour, and the end is nigh…I think this is a fitting climax to XXV.

Paul’s performance on the closing vocal piece is superb. The closing line the vocal was done in one take and is a stunning piece of vocal prowess. And the final treat for Pallas fans is a reprise of Neil’s famous “why did you cut it so short ” guitar solo in the Rise and Fall from the Sentinel album.

This time Neil wasn’t cut off in his prime, and the guitar source to climax, before Pandy’s gorgeous operatic voice brings this epic album to a close.

I am immensely proud of XXV and feel that we have produced one of the finest and most cohesive Pallas albums ever. I hope some of you agree with me, and hope that all of you enjoy the album.

I hope my explanation of the thinking going on behind the lyric writing helps to give you a deeper insight into the album. Cheers !

It was great fun being given the chance to create the final battle of mankind with the Sentinel. I have always wanted to have an album of songs that had linking pieces running all the way through.

I particularly love Paul’s soaring vocals on this. Just in case you don’t notice, the guitar solo at the end of this track is a reworking of the original solo from “Rise and Fall” on the “Sentinel” album.

I am very proud of this album. Making a Pallas album is a mixture of ups and downs, joy and sadness, frustration and satisfaction. It’s hard work but so worth it.

It’s an honour to work with these guys.

Dramatic, cinematic, Pallas. The end of the world as you’d expect it to be played.

It sounds how it is for me, Imperialistic, dramatic, haunting and a whole lot more. I love the conclusion of XXV with this gargantuan arrangement. It challenges our fears, it begs disbelief.

Can this actually happen?

On many levels it is happening now, so who is to say that we are not due and deserve such a drastic clear out.

Our tiny Blue Orb deserves more than what we give her and perhaps we take one last look at one another and ask….

What can I do? How can I help?

And finally… I am sorry my friend…

Great end to the album. A “conclusion” if you like to the story. A chance for me to open up a bit and throw in some nice fills.

Done in a couple of takes, I am happy with the looseness of the drum part and the immediacy of the feel.

Lyrics

All that you are
All you have done
Will now unravel
The countdown has begun
Take one last look
At all your mistakes
All of your triumphs
Now seem out of place
For this is my mission and your destiny
So lift up your eyes and look to the sea

The Unmakers awake
